The latitude line of the 26th parallel officially defines the geographic edge of ‘the north’. But living in the north is also an attitude; a creative and adventurous grit that has a unique character and vernacular.

The Kimberley Arts Network and the Broome Civic Centre partner to present an annual exhibition of artworks showcasing the creative expression of our unique region. art above the 26th explores the lifestyles, heritage and character of ‘the north’; this adventurous and vibrant part of the world that we call home.

The exhibition kicks off with a gallery soiree at the Broome Civic Centre on Friday 11 July between 5pm and 7pm.  There will be music from Ziggy and Tricky, and the bar will be open.

The Kimberley and the rest of the North is bursting with talent, and art above the 26th is a spotlight on significant artists that you may not see in other shows.
