A weekend of Botanical drawing with Robyn Wells.

These popular workshops not only help you draw our local flora and trees, but also give you insights into the unique features of Kimberley plants.

Robyn is a multi-disciplinary Broome artist who has a great breadth of knowledge about the botany of the West Kimberley; she has used it for creative inspiration as well as for making plant-based ointments and soaps.

Working with Robyn over 2 sessions will increase your drawing and observation skills, and also give you a renewed appreciation for the natural world around us.

Session 1   Saturday 8 August   10-12.30pm

• Gain insights into the diverse botanical landscapes and flora of the Kimberley.
• Identify common botanical features of plants by examining local plant species.
• Develop your observational and technical drawing skills to create and label a detailed botanical drawing

Session 2   Sun 9 August    10-12.30pm

• Use different mediums to render botanical drawings (pen, ink and pastels on paper).
• Make the jump to create a bold design based on your new botanical knowledge.
