Naomie Hatherley, Leah Rakabundel, Isla Birnie & Meredith Bell will be discussing the daily juggle of art and motherhood. Come along to the Broome Public Library and be part of the discussion and meet fellow KAN members and creatives. New faces always welcome!!

Leah Rakabundel is a painter, drawer, sewer, muralist and has coordinated several community arts projects in Broome. Isla Birnie is a painter and drawer who also works in the education/community services sector. Together they run Los Bagus Collection, a small arts organisation that facilitates creative workshops and pop up exhibitions. Since becoming Mothers in the last few years, their focus has been on providing a creative space for parents.
Naomie Hatherley will be one of our guest speakers, talking about art and motherhood. A Mother, Artist & Educator she is interested in notions of identity and experiences m/other reflected in the everyday. Recently, Naomie completed a residency at the Fremantle Arts Centre and also won the 2020 Shinju Matsuri Art Award for her piece “Heretic”.
Meredith Bell is the ARtistic Director of Theatre Kimberley and runs the Sandfly circus. As a mother who runs an NFP that produces large scale children’s theatre, life is never dull.
