Join us at the Shed for a Friday evening catch-up with a yarn, some drinks, nibbles and good company.
We’re kicking off our monthly Artist Yarns series this year with an amazing crew of Kimberley artists who come together in Broome from all different communities to paint; it’s the “Artists Away From Home” Program run through Broome Circle.
The Kimberley’s remote Art Centres are renowned for being powerhouses of creative talent and social cohesion. Balgo and Bidyadanga are home to many artists, but when they travel away from country, it’s not easy to maintain their practice. Other artists come to Broome from even further afield.
Broome now offers a place for painting that provides professional art studio support. Carly Day and Tracey Mulardy from the “Artists Away From Home” Program will chat with Naomie Hatherley about the program, the artists and show some work.
