“I want to speak with light and colour and buttery oils, of the things that inspire me. I have found a home on Yawuru/Djugun Country, within the community, the land and its diversity. I aim to make paintings that explore and communicate the relationships between these things, that move beyond into deeper and more profound understandings.”
Having grown up in the South West of Western Australia Amelia now lives and works in Broome while retaining connections in the South. Her award-winning works have become a symbol of her commitment to the community and Country she now feels a profound connection to.
